Some of the more advanced techniques used to achieve remarkable results.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation

Instrument-assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM) utilizes ergonomically designed tools made from stainless steel to scrape the skin, producing a local inflammatory response which in turn promotes healing. This technique is great for breaking down scar tissue and decreasing tone within muscles. It is a non-invasive treatment approach which produces surprising results.

Soft Tissue Release/Myofascial Release

In contrast to conventional massage strokes and other forms of bodywork – where the therapist applies pressure to tissues to stimulate the movement of fluids to help affect neuromuscular tension – Soft Tissue Release/Myofascial Release techniques utilise a different point of contact within the tissue to stretch fascial connective tissue and break up adhesions/scar tissue.

Muscle Energy Techniques

Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) are forms of soft tissue/joint manipulations, involving the voluntary contraction of a muscle in a specific direction at various levels of intensity against resistance from either passive or active force. This helps lengthen shortened, contracted muscles and strengthen weak muscles. It is a subtle stretching technique that yields maximum returns.
